An exciting new project started in 2020 after John Hunt wrote his story for Eurodragster in July that year. John had been in contact with various other drag racers from the Surrey area that he had known when running his own dragster and it occurred to him that they too might want to add their stories.
Fortunately they were all up for it and during the winter of 2020/2021 John recorded interviews with them which he then transcribed. I helped edit the interviews and scanned the photos and memorabilia that they had provided plus some from my own archive. Extra historical help was given by Clive Rooms while Simon Groves did the final layout, publishing the stories on Eurodragster between February and April 2021.
We did it all again a year later producing a Series 2. Mick Gleadow became involved and helped find many pioneers using an ancestral site he subscribes to. Also Chris Dossett and Jerry Cookson helped with some of the stories and these were all published on Eurodragster between January and April 2022.
We published Series 3 during January to April 2023 and then Series 4 January to March 2024.
